Givers
Based in Tokyo, Givers is a student-led volunteer organization from Sophia University with over 170 members, working to improve the lives of underprivileged children in El Salvador through education, economic empowerment, and Bitcoin.
Their initiative — Make the Future of Hundreds of Children — raised 26M sats (~$7,600) from 80 contributors, combining Bitcoin adoption with meaningful, on-the-ground humanitarian impact.
What Made the Project Successful
Powerful mission: Blended social good with Bitcoin adoption — proving Bitcoin can fund education, health, and empowerment.
Strong reputation: Built early proof-of-work through small volunteer trips and transparent impact reporting before major funding arrived.
Trust from donors: Their authenticity and consistency attracted larger donors who boosted the campaign’s visibility and momentum.
Cross-cultural storytelling: Shared their story beautifully in both Japanese and English, appealing to a global audience.
Community engagement: Active online and offline through podcasts, events, and outreach across Japan.
Features Used
✍️ Project Posts: Shared detailed updates and visuals to highlight their activities, trips, and impact on the ground. Geyser posts went out by email to their previous contributors, therefore enabling more donations.
🎯 Goals: Outlined clear funding targets for travel, school donations, and educational programs.
🌍 Multilingual Storytelling: Used bilingual posts, photos, and stories showing how sats directly impact children’s lives.
